The Austbrokers Network was established in 1985 to give individual General Insurance Broking firms the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of a larger corporate group, yet still maintain that all important feel of independence.
Austbrokers significant growth has been largely achieved through the acquisition of equity in selected insurance broking and financial services businesses that allows individual owners to retain a significant interest in their own broking business. This encourages initiative and dedication, allowing the businesses to preserve their local identity and management. This balance allows the individual firms to enjoy all the advantages of being part of a publicly listed company with strategic and administrative support along with scale benefits, yet still maintain the independence and local focus for the client.
The Austbrokers Network ranks within the top four general insurance broking groups in Australia. Through its 40 plus member firms, Austbrokers is represented in over 80 locations Australia wide and has a client base of over 255,000. More than 1300 personnel with wide ranging skills are engaged within the Network, and this places Austbrokers Member firms in an optimum position to provide professional insurance expertise ranging from SME to Industrial and Corporate companies throughout Australia. To facilitate their expertise, Austbrokers also owns specialist underwriting agencies providing insurance for targeted industry niches, many of which are exclusive to the Austbrokers Network.
